Learning How to Float
There will be times when you would like to make columns or have text wrap around a particular image. The property float will take care of this. You can either float left or right. An example can be found below;

The Importance of Clear: Both
If you decide to float divs for columns then at some point and time you're going to want to clear both, especially if you would like to add a footer down below it.
Float Right with no clear
